In northern Aomori prefecture, this song represents Tsugaru folk music established in the late 19th century (the Edo period - the Meiji period). It was brought north from Niigata to Aomori by tradesmen on boats in the 18th century, and the current style was established around the end of 19th century. The song has been updated in 4 different patterns until now. I arranged the second one, which is slow and beautiful. The part usually sung by a minyo singer is played by guitar here. The groove was tough to understand first, but once I got it, I have been completely addicted to it. - Yukihiro Atsumi
